Koa (a member of the acacia family, native to Hawaii) is seen as the “traditional” ukulele tonewood thanks to its rich, resonant and warm tone and long sustain. The body is beautifully decorated with abalone and maple binding which really highlight the gorgeous grain of the wood. The koa body is paired with a mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard, with an attractive maple binding. The SU074P has been tastefully satin finished to allow the wood to resonate freely while also enhancing the grain of the koa and feeling silky smooth under the hands. All in all this is a classy and very eye-catching instrument! When it comes to hardware, these sweet sounding concert ukuleles don’t disappoint either, with reliable and precise geared tuners and Aquila Nylgut strings.
